T. L. THE HOLY GHOST A PERSON (1) He Speaks— It is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost (Mark 13:11). (2) He Teaches— The Holy Ghost shall teach you (Luke 12:12; 1 Cor. 2:13). NOT YIELDED A Christian Jewess on the Pacific Coast said to the writer, “ I have been a believer in Christ for twenty-seven years, but I never yielded my heart and life wholly to Him until a year ago.” A life yielded to Christ is es­ sential if He would do anything effec­ tive with us. A command: "Yield yourselves unto God” (Rom. 6:13). A specification: “ Yield your mem­ bers as instruments of righteousness unto God” (Rom. 6:13, 19). A prohibition: “ Neither yield ye your members as instruments of un­ righteousness unto sin” (Rom. 6 :13 ). A test: “ Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are?” (Rom. 6 :16 ). A reminder: “ As ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness" (Rom. 6:19). — F. E. M.
