29TH ANNUAL ARC RACE
DANCING WITH THE ARC Following a forced rescheduling due to poor air quality from The Canadian Wildfires, The Arc of Monroe held its inaugural “Dancing with The Arc” event in September. Five Rochester celebrities were partnered with a person supported by The Arc of Monroe. Together, they embarked on a magical journey to learn a fun dance. They made their musical selections and were hard at work practicing their numbers. The duos performed their dance for a panel of celebrity judges on September 5th. Scott Spezzano and Sandy Waters from 98.9 The Buzz emceed the event . Celebrity judges included Norma Holland from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Jennifer Johnson from Golisano Children’s Hospital, Dino Kay from Fickle 93.3, and Dan Mason from the Rochester Red Wings.
Arc of Onondaga and the Arc of Onondaga Foundation hosted its 29th Annual Arc Race on September 9th. Runners and walkers from across CNY came to show their support. At the heart of the race for the eighth year was Athletes in Tandem, which pairs community runners and walkers with people supported by Arc of Onondaga. This year, 13 Athletes in tandem teams participated, spotlighting what’s possible when we look beyond disability and work together toward a common goal.
