It is very plain to anyone who will carefully read the chapter and. note exactly what is said that this can­ not refer to "the ample restoration of the Church,'' as some have interpreted it, but to the future glory of Israel, God's earthly people. 7. In the last chapter of his prophecy, Isaiah represents Jehovah as saying, ''And I will set a sign among them, and I will send such as escape of them unto the nations, to Tar­ shish, Pul, and Lud, that draw the bow, to Tubal and Javan, to the isles afar off, that have not heard my fame, neither have seen my glory; and they shall declat·e my glory among the nations " (Is. 66 :19).
