(Is. 32 :15). And once more we read, '' The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad ; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose. It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing; the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon; they shall see the glory of Jehovah, the excel­ lency of our God'' (Is. 35 :1, 2). The most desolate parts of the earth shall become more beautiful and fruitful than the most fertile portions of the earth are to-day. 2. Bright as the foregoing picture is, even a better day is coming-THERE SHALL BE A NEW HEAVEN AND A NEW EARTH. We read in TI Pet. 3 :12, 13, ''Looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, by reason of which the heavens be­ ing on fire sbaH be dissolved, and the ele­ ments shall melt with fervent heat. But according to his promise, we LOOK FOR NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH, Wherein dwelleth righteousness.'' We see a picture of the fulfillment of this prophecy in Rev. 21 :1-5, "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth are passed away; and the sea is no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming
