New Defibrillators Rollout in Jan/Feb 2025.

Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) AEDs are for non-critical care areas. These are the Lifepak CR2. All clinical staff that are required to complete Basic Life Support (BLS) must have the CR2 - AED training, this includes medical, nursing and allied health. This training will take 10-15 minutes. Training starts on 28 Jan 2025. The Lifepak representative will be available to train superusers to assist in the facilitation of training Ryde Hospital Staff. These dates will be scheduled for staff to drop in, initially over the first 2 weeks and then continuing for another 3 weeks with ongoing review. All staff will need to sign on so that their names are entered into MHL as having received the training.

Manual Defibrillators These are for the Critical Care areas, ED, ICU and Code Blue calls. These are the Lifepak 35. All medical and nursing staff working in ICU, ED and those who are ALS responders need to complete this training as well as the CR2 AED training. Once training has been completed names need to be entered into MHL. Defibrillator Training Week is scheduled from : 29 to 31 January 2025.
