SUPPLEMENTAL RETIREMENT OPTIONS ALL EMPLOYEES

457 Deferred Compensation Plan The 457 Deferred Compensation Plan allows you to save and invest money for retirement with tax benefits. Contributions are made to an account in your name for the exclusive benefit of you and your beneficiaries. The value of the account is based on your contributions and the investment performance over time. 457(b)  All Full-Time General and Public Safety employees are eligible for voluntary pre-tax contributions.  Contributions up to IRS annual limit.  General Full-Time employees receive up to 6% match from the City after two (2) years of service.  All contributions are vested immediately.  Emergency withdrawals while employed follow IRS guidelines.  In-Service withdrawals available after age 59 ½. Roth IRA  All Full-Time General and Public Safety employees are eligible for voluntary post-tax contributions.  Contributions up to IRS annual limit.  In-Service withdrawals of contributions at any time, tax and penalty free.  Tax and penalty free withdrawals of earnings after 59 ½ if account has been open for five (5)+ years. Roth IRA A Roth IRA can complement your other retirement plans by allowing for tax-free earnings and, if needed, flexible withdrawals.
