The Charlotte Martin Foundation youth grants creates opportunities for our youth, especially youth of color, to explore their passions, enrich their lives, and develop their skills in order to reach their potential in the world. We fund urban, rural, and tribal communities in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington where people work to improve the places they live. Since 2000, the foundation has funded a range of after-school and summer programs serving low-income and under-served youth in Fairfield County CT, New Haven County CT, Monroe County NY, King County WA, and Kitsap County WA. Preference is given to programs that serve economically disadvantaged or under-served youth and that target children ages 11-18. Currently, the foundation is focused on addressing young people’s growth and development in the following areas: nutrition, health, and fitness; environmental education and awareness.
