The PATH Foundation offers several grant cycles during the year to help nonprofits and government agencies better our communities. Program and Planning Grants and General Operations Grants must align with one of our four areas of focus — access to health, childhood wellness, mental health and senior services — to be considered. Make it Happen Grants and Technical Assistance Grants are not required to adhere to those principles, but both enhance vitality and service within our community.

The Community Foundation’s competitive grant process seeks proposals from 501(c)(3)nonprofit organizations based in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison and Rappahannock counties or from any organization with a project that has specific benefit to a majority of residents of those counties. The Fund awards grants across a geographically vast area that includes 10 counties in Virginia and Maryland as well as the District of Columbia. The Fund only accepts letters of inquiry from organizations that have been ruled to be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and that are not private foundations as defined in the Code.
