Lake County Health and Human Services Division is accepting grant applications for children’s and health and human-services programs. Organizations eligible for funding include public and private nonprofit organizations, local governments and public or private schools. Children’s Services Council grants provide funding for programs that provide youth prevention and/or intervention programs emphasizing one or more of the following needs: abuse-and-neglect; after-school and out-of-school programs to address delinquency prevention; developmental screening and assessments for children with special physical and behavioral needs; kinship care (grandparents/ relatives raising grandchildren); subsidized child care; and nutritional education and the reduction of childhood obesity to safeguard physical health.
