their win. That token of appreciation changes with the seasons. In the winter, I handed out warm gloves and coffee mugs, and right now with summer around the corner, I’m giving away beach coolers with fun trinkets inside. I know I don’t need to give out these gifts, but everyone likes presents, and I feel like it closes our time together in a more personal way compared to just handing over their check and saying, “Have a nice day.”That warmth and positivity sticks with me, and I hope it does the same for my clients! “When my team and I settle a case for a client, I always give them a small gift to thank them for working with us and congratulate them on their win.” I also give small gifts out to new clients who come to me for help with car accidents or criminal cases. A few weeks ago, I was talking to a friend about spring traditions, and she brought up something I’d never heard of: May Day. Apparently on May 1, kids all over the Midwest (and maybe in other places, too) fill little baskets with spring flowers and drop them off on their neighbors’ doorsteps. It’s like ding- dong ditching but with a positive twist. You ring the doorbell, leave the flowers, and then run away before your neighbor opens the door. They get a sweet surprise, and you get to spread some joy. Personally, I’ve never participated in May Day (maybe it’s just not a Rhode Island thing — we’re a bit rougher around the edges here on the East Coast), but it seems like a really great idea. I’ve always been a big believer in the power of small gifts, so I can definitely see how a mysterious basket of flowers would make someone smile. For a while now, I’ve done something similar to spread cheer at my office and show my clients how much I appreciate them. When my team and I settle a case for a client, I always give them a small gift to thank them for working with us and congratulate them on

case clients a copy of a report I wrote called “8 Frequently Asked Questions on How to Get Bail on Drug Charges” so they can learn more about our bail system. In the spirit of May Day, I thought I’d give you a gift, too! Throughout this month, you can visit MikeLombardiLaw.com and sign up for a free copy of “The Client’s Guide to Car Accident & Injury Cases” in e-book form. If you or someone you love has been in a car crash recently, this book might be exactly what you’ve been looking for to lift your

spirits and put you on track for justice.
