A 15-year-old Hawkesbury girl faces a
public mischief charge after the
Hawkesbury Ontario Provincial Police
detachmentconcludedallegationsofsexual
assault she had made were fabrications.
The teenager is to appear March 2 in
L’Orignalcourt.UndertheCriminalCodeof
Canada, a conviction for public mischief
brings a maximum penalty of five years in
jail.
The accused reported to police on two
occasions that she had been assaulted. The
detachment charged a young person after
the girl claimed she had been the victim of
threats, criminal harassment and a series of
assaults, including a sexual assault, in
October, 2010.
Twoweeksago,thesamepersonreported
being abducted in Hawkesbury and being
sexuallyassaultedbyherabductor.Another
long extensive investigation ensued; it was
found that the incident did not occur.
Further investigation revealed that the
incidents in October were also fabricated.

Policeofficers busyrespondingtocollisions
and vehicles that ended up in ditches.
Throughout SD&G, there were about 30
collisions,includingonethatcausedaminor
injury.
