Ontario efforts to cut red tape recognized Ontario’s Red Tape Challenge is currently in process and involves an online consulting tool designed to identify and eliminate duplication, lessen compliance burdens, shorten response times and make it easier for businesses to interact with the government. The Red Tape Challenge will focus on six sectors over the next two years, starting with auto parts manufacturing and food processing. Other proposed sectors include financial services, mining, chemical manufacturing and forestry. In recognition of the province’s efforts to reduce red tape over the last year, the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB) awarded the province a B+ grade – the second highest grade awarded in Canada – as part of its annual Red Tape Awareness Week. Ontario’s strong rating is due to efforts to streamline and modernize government. The province is over halfway to its burden reduction target of $100 million in savings for businesses by the end of 2017, reaching the $50 million mark in 2015. To participate, please visit: talks.ontario.ca/redtapechallenge.

Tillsonburg Hospital Establishes a Campus of Care to expand services

Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital (TDMH) has established a Campus of Care, offering a range of healthcare services, to make it easier for patients and families to navigate the healthcare system. A new sign has been installed at the front of the hospital to indicate services provided. “We at TDMH have seen that as the health care system in Ontario evolves, people are more confused about where to get specific health care services, for themselves and their family. We want to

make it easier for people to navigate the system, so the Board and Leadership team at TDMH created a strategy to bring more of our community health care partners to our TDMH site and offer more services from one location,” said Crystal Houze, TDMH President and CEO. TDMH’s Campus of Care includes acute care, complex continuing care, emergency services, surgical services, diagnostic imaging, cardiac services and respiratory therapy.
