Tillsonburg Chamber Announces 2016 Award recipients

Drinking Water and Wastewater System Performance Reports are Now Online Oxford County’s drinking water and wastewater treatment systems continue to operate at a high level of safety. Twelve of the County’s 17 drinking water systems received inspection ratings of 100%, while three systems received a 98% or above. Oxford County monitors drinking water quality 24/7 to ensure it is free of contaminants. In 2015, Public Works treated and supplied 11.6 million cubic meters of drinking water and all nine of the County’s wastewater treatment plants achieved 100% compliance with their Environmental Compliance Approval effluent discharge limits. Full reports for each of the systems can be found on Oxford County’s website by visiting www.oxfordcounty.ca Oxford Small Business Support Centre offering grants to Young Entrepreneurs The Oxford Small Business Support Centre (OSBSC) is offering a new grant program for small business owners under 30. The Oxford Young Entrepreneurs program is open to all small business owners under 30, but does prioritize applicants who have left the community and then returned to Oxford to start their business. More information is available at www.osbsc.on.ca/resources . EMC is Offering LBMX Cloud Based EDI Companies run on the exchange of information. Invoices, purchase orders and acknowledgements are just some of the information that keeps business moving. Done well, exchanging data electronically (EDI) is efficient, quick and avoids re- keying. EMC (Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium) is offering this service to all of its members to allow manufacturers to be more competitive. Wise Line Metal Sales continued

says Dave Wieler, co-owner, “Our business has been experiencing growing pains and a new building will enable our business to accommodate new and existing business while improving the efficiency and productivity of our operation,” he adds. “On behalf of the Town, I welcome Wise Line Metal Sales and their employees to the community,” says Tillsonburg Mayor Stephen Molnar. “One of the goals identified in the Community Strategic Plan is providing a variety of employment opportunities in Tillsonburg and attracting Wise Line Metal Sales here supports growth across multiple sectors”, he adds.

“The Town of Tillsonburg moved quickly to meet our needs and provide us with the information required to make this decision,” stated co-owner Dan Wieler, “and based on our experience with the Economic Development department, we would highly recommend them to other companies.” The land sale will facilitate approximately 20 jobs while providing for additional employment growth in the future. Construction is anticipated to start in 2016 with occupancy by the end of the year.
