APPLES TO ORANGES THE DANGERS OF COMPARING YOUR CASE TO ANOTHER

In today’s world, everybody is a comparison shopper. With the advent of the internet, it takes all of about two seconds to find the best deal. You can go online and compare store prices between all the big-box retailers. If you’re going to buy a car, you can go to websites like Truecar.com that are in the business of telling you what others in your area paid for a car you’re looking at. For legal issues, however, it can be dangerous to comparison-shop. There’s no equivalent to Truecar.com for legal problems. You can’t gauge what the best outcome is for your case based on what another person in your situation received. Let’s take a look at personal injury claims as an example.

There are several factors that make every injury case unique. The truck accident that cripples an individual will definitely have a higher value than the fender bender in the Publix shopping center. Many factors will ultimately determine the value of a personal injury case. You can read about what makes your case more valuable in my book, “What the heck is my Personal Injury case worth? And, Why Billboard Advertising is So Deceptive.”

Apples to Apples

Automatically thinking you’re going to get that “billboard” result with your case is only setting yourself up for disappointment. This kind of mindset can also lead to a missed opportunity for a better overall result. You may be tempted by the billboard, but it’s critical that you research specific attorneys to find one suited for your unique situation. This is why we offer a free consultation at The Law Offices of Matthew Konecky, PA. We want to be sure we are going to be a good match before we go to work for you and your case. Simply call 561-671-5995, and we’ll go from there.

Personal Injury Claims

Have you noticed the billboards on I-95 advertising “Joe Blow attorney got me $1 million,” along with a picture of someone giving a thumbs up? If you’re injured in an accident and you have the expectation that this will be the same result for your injury case, you won’t be happy in the end.

Happy Mother’s Day I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms reading this. I especially want to express my gratitude to my wife, who is the best mother to our Daughter I can ask for. Lastly, I want to say thank you to my Mom, Janet Konecky, who passed away this past January. She was a teacher, artist, and volunteer, but most of all, my Mom. Here is a little known fact: My Mom once played flute with Jimi Hendrix when she was in college on a chance meeting. As my sister said, my Mom never met a stranger. A lot of who I am I owe to her.
