Join St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre for summer art camps designed for kids full of creativity! Campers learn art techniques in a variety of media through hands-on learning in a fun and engaging environment. Time is spent exploring exhibitions in the galleries, creating in the workspaces, and learning through practice. With the guidance of skilled art educators, learners are empowered to problem solve through critical thinking, observation, and creative self-expression.

FINE ARTS CAMPS Ages 6-12 • 8 weeks $158 St. Peters Resident/Rec-Plex Member; $198 General Public

Pack your bags and grab your Passport! Campers will “travel” the world and learn about different cultures through art. Each week, kids will try their hand at new and imaginative art projects while receiving instruction in classic art forms and expanding their horizons into contemporary ones. Campers may visit the St. Peters Cultural Arts Centre art galleries and occasionally take walks to the nearby park (weather permitting). These camps may also feature “plein air” or “open air” painting outside (weather permitting). Campers should wear clothes that they do not mind getting dirty or stained.

SCULPTURE CAMP

If your child loves working with clay and sculpting art, this is the camp for them! Sculpture Camp offers a unique opportunity for kids to develop their sculpting skills and ex- plore a range of sculpting styles and materials. Campers should wear clothes that they do not mind getting dirty or stained.

FENCING CAMP

Ages 10-16 • June 16-20 or June 23-27 $177 St. Peters Resident/Rec-Plex Member; $222 General Public

Your camper will learn the basics of the art of fencing, including the en garde position, stance, defense, attacks and courtesy. This is a combined class for both beginners and experienced. Campers should wear comfortable pants (sweatpants or running pants). The instructor provides all fencing equipment.

In this camp, we will explore a range of performance skills. They will include the techniques that actors use on stage, theatrical terms, how to audition, dance, and music. St. Peters Day Camp provides your camper with a safe environment, and the opportunity to meet new friends, play games and enjoy plenty of activities, such as swimming, ice skating, special entertainment, and so much more! Looking for an action-packed way to keep your kids active this summer? Our Sports Camp has it all! From baseball and softball to football, kickball, and even more exciting games, your child will build skills, teamwork, and confidence in a fun and supportive environment. With experienced counelors, new friends, and nonstop energy, this camp is perfect for athletes of all levels!

ICE HOCKEY CAMP

Rink Rats Summer Hockey Camp Ages 7-13 • 4 weeks June 2-6, June 9-13, June 21-25, July 28-August 1 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $230 St. Peters Resident/Rec-Plex Member; $287 General Public

Rink Rats will keep cool and gain extra ice time each day during this camp. We will work on hockey specific skills such as skating, puck handling, shooting, passing, teamwork, plus having fun by playing different small area games and drills! Campers will also have off ice time to stay active and have fun. Off ice time is utilized at The Cove Pool, nearby parks, and Rec Plex gyms. Campers must have basic hockey experience and full equipment is required to participate.

Rink Rats Summer Elite Hockey Camp Ages 10-14 • 1 week August 4-8 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $279 St. Peters Resident/Rec-Plex Member; $309 General Public

Get a jump on the hockey season with an intense week of training! This camp will be packed with hockey specific skills/drills such as skating, puck handling, shooting, passing, teamwork, plus having fun by playing different small area games and drills! Campers will also have off ice time to stay active with hockey specific workouts and games. Off ice time will be utilized outside, inside the Rec Plex gymnasium, and in the STP hockey shooting center. Skaters will have fun, scrimmage, and train for the upcoming season! Campers must have played organized hockey in the past 3 years. Full equipment is required to participate.

ICE SKATING CAMPS

Summer Learn to Skate Camp Ages 7-13 • 4 weeks June 2-6, June 9-13, July 28-August 1, August 4-8 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $230 St. Peters Resident/Rec-Plex Member ; $287 General Public

Beginner skaters come learn to skate! No experience required! Have fun with lessons, on-ice games, and fun off- ice activities each day. Skaters will also learn and practice a skating routine to perform at the end of the week. We will provide the skates and all of the fun! This camp is for the brand new beginner through Alpha level skater. Summer Figure Skating Camp Ages 7-13 • 1 week July 21-25 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $230 St. Peters Resident/Rec-Plex Member; $287 General Public Skaters get extra ice time each day to develop skating skills, jumps, and spins. Skaters will be introduced to ice dancing, synchronized skating, artistry, and choreography while building up cardio fitness. Skaters will also learn and practice a skating routine to perform at the end of the week. This camp is for the Beta level through Freestyle 2 level skater. Summer Figure Skating Boot Camp Ages 7-13 • 3 days June 16-18 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. $138 St. Peters Resident/Rec-Plex Member; $172 General Public Accelerate your progress with this 3-day intensive boot camp! On and off-ice training will get you motivated to tackle your summer skating goals! Skaters will work on jump and spin techniques as well as work on balance and coordination. Skaters will enjoy being challenged all while having fun! Camp is for the Delta and above skater.

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP INFORMATION

All campers must be signed in and out every day by a parent, guardian or someone listed on the drop-off/pick- up sheet. All campers must be picked up at either Rec-Plex South or Cultural Arts Centre by 3:30 p.m. at the latest unless they are enrolled in After Care. When picking up campers, the parent, guardian or authorized person must present a photo ID.

BEFORE AND AFTER CARE Do you need extended hours for your camper? Register for Before and/or After Care online or in-person. Pick-up and drop-off is located at Rec-Plex South.

LATE PICK-UP FEE POLICY Parents, guardians and authorized persons picking up any child after the designated pick-up time will be required to pay an additional fee. Campers must be picked up by 3:30 p.m. at their respective location. Campers registered for After Care must be picked up by 6:00 p.m.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

REFUND POLICY Requests for refunds are accepted for the following: • If a camp is cancelled by the City of St. Peters and not rescheduled. • If a refund is requested a minimum of seven days prior to the beginning of the program session. • If a medical condition prohibits participation, and written support documentation is provided by the doctor. • All requests must be made by the registrant in writing. THERE ARE NO MAKE-UPS FOR MISSED DAYS. • A 10% processing fee, per child per camp, will be charged for any refunds that are not initiated by the City of St. Peters. FIELD TRIP & SPECIAL ENTERTAINMENT POLICY • All camp field trips and special entertaiment are subject to change. Each field trip and/or special event will take place on Fridays. • Field trip permission slips must be signed the Monday prior and turned in to camp staff before the child can participate in a field trip.

HOW TO REGISTER • All registration can be completed online! However, if you prefer to register in person, the Rec-Plex Registration Desk is open Mon-Fri 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., and Sat and Sun from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. • You must complete the Camp Authorization/ Questions (Activity #12085) prior to enrolling in summer camps. • Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. There are a limited number of openings for each session. • All camp sessions you choose must be PAID IN FULL when you register for them. REGISTRATION DEADLINE • The online registration deadline for all camps is midnight the Wednesday prior to the start of camp. • In-person registration must be completed NO LATER than 7:00 p.m. on the Wednesday the week before camp. • Waitlisted campers will be taken on a first-come, first- served basis as staffing allows.

HEALTH & EMERGENCY INFORMATION

All Summer Camp staff undergo safety training each year, and we have a number of policies to help us with our goal to provide a safe, fun environment for your camper.

MEDICATIONS The giving of prescription and non-prescription medicine to children during camp hours shall be restricted to necessary medication that cannot be given on an alternate schedule. Prescription medicine that is to be administered by the camp staff should be accompanied with a written note from a parent/guardian explaining the process of administering the medicine, plus the prescription medicine must have a label affixed by a pharmacy or physician showing the following: • Name of Child • Dosage and Schedule of Administration • Physician’s Name • Name of Medication Non-prescription medicine that is to be administered by the camp staff must be sent to camp in the original container with the following information affixed to the container: • Name of Child • Dosage and Schedule of Administration • A written note from a parent/guardian explaining the process of administering the medicine. All medication must be accompanied by a written request from the child’s parent/guardian. All medication will be kept in the camp office and only administered by the Camp Director and/or Team Leaders. If the above steps are not followed, the medication will not be given and will be sent home with the child at the end of the day. EMERGENCIES In case of an emergency or accident involving your camper, you will be notified immediately by the Camp Director. Please notify us immediately if there is a change(s) in the status of your child’s health. ILLNESSES All illnesses will be treated with discretion, and you will be notified any time your child is sick. Please do not send your child to camp is they are ill. If your child will not be present because of illness, please contact: Art Experience Camp Office : 636-477-6600, ext. 1624 Rec-Plex Camp Office : 636-939-2386, ext. 1601 INCLEMENT WEATHER All summer camps will be held EVERY DAY rain or shine. When inclement weather occurs, outdoor camp activities will be modified and/or moved indoors. During severe weather, children will be moved to a secure location. Please provide your camper with sunscreen for outdoor activities. Spray-on sunscreen is HIGHLY recommended as it can be easily applied by staff. SUNSCREEN

WHAT TO BRING/EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

BEHAVIOR POLICY All campers are expected to follow these behavior guidelines: DO’s : • Be respectful toward camp staff and other campers. • Follow directions at all times. • Stay with your camp counselor/leader at all times. • Respect camp property and other campers’ property. DON’T’s: • Improper language or name-calling will not be tolerated. • No fighting, pushing, shoving, or careless horseplay. • When outside, campers are prohibited from climbing on trees, playing on bridges, or playing in the creek. DISCIPLINE POLICY Should a discipline problem arise, a time-out will be enforced and the parent or guardian may be contacted depending upon severity. Should it continue to be a problem, the parent will be contacted and the child may be suspended for a day from camp, with no refund given. A parent may request a conference with the Camp Director or Recreation Superintendent any time they feel one is needed. Camp has a discipline log and all incidents are recorded for reference. LOST AND FOUND POLICY Items will be held for two weeks. After that time, items will be removed and donated. Please label all belongings to ensure they are returned. Lost and found items are displayed at drop-off and pick-up.

CELL PHONE & ELECTRONICS POLICY It is recommended that campers DO NOT bring cell phones or other electronic devices to camp. If a counselor notices your child with these items, they will be asked to put them away. Campers are responsible for carrying all personal items—camp staff will not hold or secure property. Under counselor supervision, Before and After campers may use electronic devices in designated areas during the time they are in Before or After camp.
