History
● In 1977, Charlie Reeder and Bill Vermaat started the first chapter of the Reeder & Vermaat Story. Shortly into the first year, Charlie Reeder was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed on. Thankfully, Bill continued the dream and long journey to get us here today. Bill spent many weeks on the road trying to grow the business. Bill still says, “One of the stupidest things I ever did was to begin a manufacturers rep business in May.”
● Over the years, Bill worked to surround himself with the best. He strategically targeted the best and most respected employees in the field, one by one. In all, there have only been 15 employees working for Reeder & Vermaat. Bill would patiently observe all the people in the territory, waiting and then hiring who he felt were the best.
● Reeder & Vermaat has built the strongest field team in the industry and aligned itself with the best manufacturers. Many vendors have been working with Reeder & Vermaat for well over 15 years. Over the years, Reeder & Vermaat has become the most respected rep group in the US. We have always held ourselves to a higher standard, and our manufacturers have realized and appreciated that.
● One of Bill's final moves was to pass the baton over to set up Reeder & Vermaat for the “long haul” with the infusion of his youth movement. Bydoing so, he plans to continue the story of Reeder & Vermaat for more future chapters!
● Today, the torch is carried on by Pat McNamara, Jim Assemany, Sam Coleman, Tim Breuning, Dane Hudlik, Allen Lamacz, and Hayden Stinnett.
● "After 48 years in the Pool and Spa Industry and 42 years as a manufacturer’s rep, I can only say how proud I am to have been part of a very special group." – Bill Vermaat
