As February came to a close, the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) has announced the full restoration of key services that were disrupted by a cyber incident in early January. The UCDSB confirmed that all major services affecting students and families have been reinstated. Internet access has been fully restored across all UCDSB schools, ensuring that students and staff can resume normal digi- tal operations. Students can now log in to their accounts and access internet services, email, and other digital resources without disruption. The online portal My Family Room is fully functional again. The goal of the annual competition is to highlight the craftsmanship and creativity of students in a variety of industrial, com- mercial, and technical trades. The Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus has a long wish list for the winner of last month’s Ontario provincial election and the federal election later this year. The Eastern Ontario Wardens Caucus (EOWC) represents the 103 municipalities in the Eastern Ontario region, including the eight that make up the United Counties of Prescott-Russell. The EOWC released a four- page list of issues it wants both the winner of the February 27 provincial election and whichever party is in charge of Parliament after the federal election this year. “We continue to partner together with the federal government and the Ontario government to strengthen our region given the social, economic and political challenges facing us ahead,” stated the EOWC news release. Topping the list of issues that the EOWC wants to help both the provincial and fede- ral governments to deal with is the threat from U.S. President Donald Trump of tariffs against Canadian goods exported to the U.S. “The EOWC’s communties are strong contributors to the economy and major exporters to Ontario and other jurisdictions,” stated the EOWC. “Our region generates over $102 billion in total economic activity and

elections, the EOWC wants the succeeding governments to ensure local governments are involved in a “coordinated approach” to dealing with any tariffs and are able to offer their local expertise to help craft a united respone. The EOWC recommends senior govern- ments continue to invest in infrastructure and housing to stimulate and stabilize both the provincial and national economies, eliminate interprovincial trade barriers to help strengthen the national economy, and remove any obstacles that would prevent municipalities from giving preference to Canadian companies when tendering bids for capital projects and supply services. The EOWC also wants senior government
to provide increased funding aid that could help reduce municipal infrastructure deficit gaps, prevent critical infrastructure failures, and support development of new infras- tructure that will help promote more future investment in local and regional economies. Both provincial and federal governments are urged to help municipalities with their own efforts to increase the amount of local housing available, including providing capital funding for new projects, and investing in more social housing projects and programs. The EOWC also urged the provincial government to continue provincial funding support for the community paramedic program.
The EOWC affirmed its support of federal and provincial efforts to convince the Trump administration not to impose tariffs and also of plans for retaliatory action if Trump makes good on his tariff threat. “We stand with our Canadian and Onta- rio government partners and support the measures they have put in place around the threat of U.S. government tariffs thus far,” stated the EOWC “The EOWC has gathered regional data around exports, sectors and job impacts. Le STTP revendique que cette livraison soit assurée par des employés à temps complet, dont l'horaire serait adapté, en travaillant du mardi au samedi, par exemple.

Étude d’évaluation environnementale de classe municipale Mise à jour du plan directeur pour les systèmes d’eaux usées de la municipalité de La Nation Avis de lancement de l’étude Le 24 février 2025 Avis public La municipalité de La Nation (Municipalité) entreprend une mise à jour du plan directeur afin d’évaluer l’infrastructures des eaux usées dans les trois (3) communautés de Limoges, St-Isidore et St-Albert. La municipalité prévoit une croissance au sein de ces communautés au cours des vingt (20) prochaines années, ce qui augmentera la pression sur l’infrastructure existante des eaux usées de chaque village. Le résultat souhaité de cette mise à jour du plan directeur est d’avoir un plan consolidé pour la mise à niveau de l’infrastructure des eaux usées pour les trois villages. Le processus Le plan directeur sera mené conformément aux exigences du document d’évaluation environnementale de classe municipale (Classe EA), approuvé en vertu de la Loi sur les évaluations environnementales de l’Ontario et amendé en 2024. Le plan directeur achèvera les phases 1 et 2 du processus de Classe EA. Les projets recommandés par le plan directeur qui nécessitent des études supplémentaires devront faire l’objet des études de Classe EA spécifiques au projet (échéancier B et échéancier C), en dehors de la portée du présent plan directeur. Le processus d’élaboration du plan directeur comprend une consultation du publique, des population autochtones et des agences externes, une évaluation des solutions alternatives, une évaluation des impacts potentiels associés aux travaux d’amélioration proposés et le développement de mesures visant à atténuer les impacts identifiés. Public Notice The Nation Municipality (Municipality) is initiating a Master Plan Update to assess wastewater infrastructure in the three communities of Limoges, St-Isidore, and St-Albert. The Municipality is expecting growth within these communities over the next twenty (20) years, which will increase strain on the existing wastewater infrastructure of each village. The desired outcome from this Master Plan Update is to have a consolidated plan for wastewater infrastructure upgrades for all The Master Plan will be carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) document (last amended in 2024), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. The Master Plan will complete Phases 1 and 2 of the Class EA Process. Projects recommended by the Master Plan requiring additional studies will require project specific Schedule B and Schedule C Class EA studies outside of the scope of this Master Plan. three villages. The Process The Master Plan process includes public, indigenous and external agency consultation, an evaluation of alternative solutions, an assessment of potential impacts associated with the proposed improvements and development of measures to mitigate identified impacts. Public Consultation Public consultation is an integral component of the Class EA process, and we value your input during the planning process. A Public Information Centre (PIC) will be held in association with the Master Plan. Once a date for the PIC has been scheduled, notices will be published in local newspapers, on The Nation’s Municipality’s website (www.NationMun.ca) and distributed to all individuals and agencies who express an interest in this project.

Notice of passing of an Interim Control By-Law related to large scale renewable energy facilities within the Municipality of The Nation. Applicant: Municipality of The Nation Notice of the Passing of Interim Control By-Law No. 8-2025 March 5 th , 2025 Notice of passing TAKE NOTICE that on the 24th day of February, 2025, the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of The Nation passed Interim Control By-law No. 8-2025, under Section 38 of the Planning Act. PURPOSE AND EFFECT The purpose and effect of By-law No. 8-2025 is to extend the review period for an additional twelve months to allow for the appropriate completion of further research and consultations, and to prohibit during this period the establishment of new large-scale renewable energy production facilities and a battery storage facility. DESCRIPTION OF SUBJECT LAND No key map has been provided as the Interim Control By-law (By-law No. 8-2025) applies to all lands within the territory of The Nation MunicipalityAll existing Official Plan and Zoning permissions will continue to apply. LEGAL NOTICE Section 38 of the Planning Act: By-law 8-2025 shall be in effect for a period of one (1) year from the date of its passing, unless repealed in whole or in part by The Nation Municipality prior to its expiry. IF YOU WISH TO APPEAL Any person or public body who was given notice of the passing of a by-law under subsection (3) may, within 50 days after the date of passing of the by-law, appeal to the Tribunal by filing with the clerk of the municipality a Notice of Appeal setting our the objection to the by-law and the reasons in support of the objection. A Notice of Appeal may be filed no later than April 15th, 2025, at 4:00 PM and must: 1. Be filed with the Clerk of the Municipality of The Nation, 2. Set out the reasons for the appeal, and 3. Must be accompanied by the fee required by the Tribunal MORE INFORMATION Copies of Interim Control By-law No. 8-2025 are available for review with the Planning Department, 958 Route 500 West, Casselman between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM. LUCETTE MARIE BERTRAND Madame Lucette Marie Bertrand, de Vankleek Hill, est décédée le dimanche 23 février 2025, à l'âge de 77 ans. Elle était la tendre épouse de feu Robert Holmgren; la fille de feu Yvon Bertrand et de feu Lucile Bertrand; la mère bien-aimée de Derek (Nancy Binette) et Lyne (Jason Mackinnon); la grand-mère adorée de Rafael, Ella, Audrey et Emily; la chère sœur de Benoît, Renée, Michelle (Walter Lyons), Lili-Anne (Pierre-Yves Séguin), Marie (Lise Doré) et Marc (Natalie Hamel-Roy). Elle laisse également les enfants de son conjoint : Tracey (Rick) et leurs enfants : Nolin et Lars; Robin et ses enfants : Cole et Sana; Robert (Lisa) et leurs enfants : Gunnar, Torunn, Max, Ava et Isabella. Lui survivent également plusieurs cousins, cousines, neveux, nièces et amis. La famille tient à remercier le personnel de l’Hôpital général de Hawkesbury, pour leur gentillesse et leurs bons soins.
