Pre-Course Work/Support (60 Days before Course)
Before the on-demand courses, participants will complete the following pre-work, which will serve as a foundation for the courses. The local Kerr representative will work with the Clinician to familiarize them with products used in training. • Learning Outcomes : o Gain a solid understanding of disinfections protocols. o Familiarize with the infection prevention suite of products and uses. o Describe the basic principles of instrument processing in the dental setting o List and describe typical steps in handpiece reprocessing. • Pre-Work Resources : o Access to case studies, and product demonstrations via an online learning portal. o Reading materials and guided resources on advanced restorative techniques. 5. Pre-Course Preparation (90 Days Before the Course) A. Pre-Work Assignments • Welcome Email & Course Outline – Overview of learning objectives, schedule, and materials. • Pre-Assessment Quiz – Evaluating baseline knowledge of infection prevention.
5. On Demand Sessions
Duration: 3 months The on-demand practicum will focus on practical techniques where participants will learn the infection prevention best practices and operatory processing tools. Multiple courses offered, each focusing on one of the core topics. 1. Describe the findings of studies performed to determine the potential for handpiece and attachment contamination during use. 2. List and describe typical steps in handpiece reprocessing. 3. Review challenges and outcomes of inadequate cleaning, lubrication, purging, and of not following the IFU on autoclaving. 4. Discuss required handpiece maintenance and repairs.
