little girl says, ‘Now I lay me down to sleep,’ is that part of the incense in the golden bowls? I ’d like to think it is.” “These are grateful tears,” explained Caroline’s moth er, as she dried her eyes. “To think that my little girl is in a real, a definite heavenly home, won for her by the death of her Saviour, and that I am on my way to h e r! I can indeed say with the Shunammite of old, ‘It is well with the child.’ ” “What the world needs today is a sight of Christ as He is now —seated in the heavenlies! Grieving hearts should he fed as your little niece fed me in my hour of need,” she added. “I am glad you are going to South America,” Uncle Alan replied. “The physical needs of the children there will give you your chance in their homes as ‘beloved phy sician.’ And many little ones will be made glad because Caroline is in heaven.” At this she turned back to say: “It is the will, not the mind, of the unbeliever, that holds out against God. As soon as I really yearned to believe, I found the Way. God is always there waiting for us when we come to the place He has appointed. I know this now: none need be lost! His hands were so eager to catch and save us that they were pierced in the saving.” rn T j^O S T encouraging reports come from the radio jP|yL/ijL audiences concerning the improvement which has been made by the installation of new eipifeFSgl machinery. One Sunday recently, a student JBLT‘flWaLof the Bible Institute sang at the Studio Ves- per Service. Two of the selections were sung especially for her father and mother who were listening in at Yakima, Washington. At the close of the hour, the solo ist was handed a telegram which read: “We heard you. Message came through fine. Father and Mother.” ;Further plans for increasing the efficiency of the sta tion are now under way. From all directions, letters are received from friends who listen to the programs of KTBI and enjoy them. They say they grow weary of the tedious programs—of ten interspersed with uninteresting advertisements—which seem to be the best that many stations have to offer. From KTBI there goes out regularly and without adultera tion a message of cheer and of hope. The unsaved find their way to Christ through the instruction of preachers of the gospel. The afflicted and distressed receive comfort through the Word. Young and old are edified. Eternity alone will reveal the extent of such a ministry. The Bible Institute of Los Angeles is happy to be the instrument in God’s hands to bring blessing to a wide and needy circle. Letters From Listeners-In “The Bible Institute of Los Angeles has been a great factor in my life for many years. One of its students who is now a missionary in Congo Beige, Africa, was a be loved Sunday-school teacher who pointed me to the Sav iour. Others have come into my life since, and always the contacts have been happy and helpful. I wish I could give you some idea of the great help your radio station has been to me. Many times my trials have faded into noth

When King Saul questioned David’s ability to kill the giant Goliath, David said, “I used to tend my father’s sheep. Sometimes a bear or a lion would creep up and carry away a lamb. I would go after him and kill the bear or the iion, and bring back the lamb. Now if I could thus kill the wild beasts of the field, this uncircumcised Philistine shall become as one of them, for he hath reproached the ranks of the living God” (see .1 Sam. 17:34-36, Rother ham). It is a terrible thing to reproach the ranks of the living God, to speak against the church of Christ, to slan der a child of God. Miriam “spake against” Moses. The Lord said to her, “Wherefore were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? . . . And the anger of the Lord was kindled . . . and, behold, Miriam became leprous.” Saul slandered and persecuted the brethren and caused them great suffering. When he learned, on the Damascus road, that “in all their affliction he [Jesus] was afflicted,” this knowledge broke Saul’s heart. Later in his life he dwelt much upon the unity of the body of Christ, showing that it is impossible for one member to suffer without the Head suffering also. Who would knowingly wound Christ by causing one of His members to suffer ? ingness because of the great truth of God that you have broadcast. My aching heart has found peace; faith has arisen to new heights; questions have been answered; and I have found a new and deeper love for my Saviour and for all mankind.” —From Los Angeles, Calif. ■—o--- “I am very grateful to God for Radio Station KTBI, for its wonderful Christian message, and for the inspira tion it brings. There is food for the hungry and drink for the thirsty in its beautiful sermons, addresses, and de lightful programs of the finest music. It is indeed re freshing to tune in and get such worth while things and at the same time to tune out the bold and wearying programs of jazz and foolishness. If every hour that is wasted on the air could be made to contribute to spiritual things, what a power for good the radio would be!” —From Los Angeles, Calif. “I often hear your splendid station. Organ music comes through as well as any.”— From New Zealand. “I receive much comfort from all the programs given over the air from KTBI. I pray God’s blessing upon the Institute for making it possible for us to have the privilege of listening to these helpful messages.”— From Santa Monica, Calif. — o — “I received a letter from a carpenter who was doing some work at the home of a lady who is an habitual listen er to KTBI. As he worked, he listened to the address being broadcast from the Institute. The Holy Spirit used the humble message, and it led to his surrender to Christ. He has since been baptized, has joined the church, and is happy in witnessing to others.”— From Bellflower, Calif.
