a great season.” His wife, Debbie Ryan, treasures people coming to their vineyard and finding the venue for the first time. “It’s always a surprise and people just love it! I enjoy seeing everyone having a great time, kids running around, and of course tasting our beautiful wines,” Debbie says. Rainier Roberts from Riversdale Estate is another big fan of the concept. “Spring in the Vines stands as an event for a collective organisation that not only promotes southern based wine but also bonds the Southern Wine Industry,” he says. “By allowing for a cohesive relationship between brands, winemakers, vignerons and proprietors alike, the community can continually build a local culture that is sustainable for the future.” Bangor Vineyard Shed owners Vanessa & Matt Dunbabin are eager to see what crowds visit in November. “We are really looking forward to this year’s Spring in the Vines Festival. With the vines bursting into life, and new release wines on offer, it’s the perfect time to visit our cellar door.” Treasurer of Wine South Nathalie Urbain says organisers have big visions for the event, which proved extremely popular in its inaugural year. “[We want] Spring in the Vines to become a major event that not just the wine community, but Tasmania as a whole, looks forward to every year. Spring is an exciting time for us all, getting out and about again, days getting longer, air warmer, so what better way to celebrate a new season than with music, food, and an excellent new vintage.”
