overcome challenges while testing better and smarter. In his role as EXFO’s Product Line Manager since 2015, he has been focusing development efforts on state-of-the-art equipment for the optical testing of integrated photonic components. François was previously an R&D engineer at Yenista Optics (now part of EXFO) where he was involved in developing tunable laser sources and spectral solutions, including an optical spectrum analyzer and an optical component tester adapted to the characterization of photonic integrated circuits. François holds a PhD in photonics from the University of Bath (UK).
Universiteit Brussel (Brussels, Belgium) in 2009. He holds specializations in Business Financing, Commercial Management and Research, and Strategic Marketing. He has been involved in several national and European research projects and networks of excellence focused on reconfigurable optical interconnects, development of micro-optic devices and photonic integrated circuits, and on flexible access and in-building fiber network architectures. Since 2011 he has been involved in VLC Photonics, and he is currently the CEO. He has worked as a reviewer for several scientific journals and national funding agencies, including being a member of the high-level steering committee set up by the European Commission for the establishment of the Quantum Technologies Flagship program.
center and Optical networks. His experience includes MACOM where he was the Senior Director of Product Management for optical components, such as laser, photodetectors, silicon photonics, and photonic solutions. Prior to that, Raju worked at Arista Networks as a Senior Product Manager and Engineering Manager where he collaborated closely with data center customers to bring unique switching products as well as Optical transceivers to market. Raju worked as a Product Manager at Cisco prior to joining Arista. Raju started his career as an Optics Engineer at Opnext in Japan (now part of Lumentum) and later held various roles in sales and marketing at the company. Raju received his MBA degree from UC Berkeley (Haas School of Business) and completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics from BITS, Pilani in India Prashanta Kharel Dr. Prashanta Kharel is Technology Strategist at Flexcompute, where he is leading partnerships with foundries and helping develop new simulation tools for the photonics industry. Dr. Kharel obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from Yale University, specializing in nonlinear optics and quantum technologies. In his prior role as head of devices and founding team member of HyperLight, Dr. Kharel worked on commercializing Thin-film Lithium Niobate photonics platform from diverse markets ranging from optical communications to test and measurement. Dr. Kharel has authored over 22 journal articles and 13 patents, bringing a blend of academic insight and industry experience to photonic design automation.
