These competitions may vary each year so please do let the prefects know if you would like to add any further competitions.
Community Service Involving yourself in Community Service is an important part of your life at the College. A full programme is available and full details will be provided at the beginning of the Michaelmas Term.
The following list should give you a flavour of what has been on offer in the past.
• Activenture (week long residential holidays with disabled children) • Archives work • Athol House (Leonard Cheshire Home, visiting residents) • Cub Scouts in West Dulwich • DUCKS (reading mentors, classroom assistants, football coaching, gardening club…) • DUCKlings (reading mentors, classroom assistants, outdoor play, IT work for teachers) • Dulwich Helpline (local elderly residents club) • Befriending (after full DBS check, meeting one to one with local elderly people, shopping, tea, chess etc) • Horniman Museum (more one off, help with curating exhibit) • DC Junior School (Homework clubs, Maths clinics, Chess club, Rugby, Hockey and Football clubs) • Kings’s Hospital (full application and interview to be a volunteer either in Macmillan unit or to visit on wards, help with admin etc. Mainly reserved for budding medics) • Langbourne Primary School (reading mentors) • Language Leaders • Saturday School at DC (helping state school kids with Maths and Science) • Turney School (outdoor play for special needs children) • 999 Club (upper school only, Weds games session, Deptford) • Northcote Rd Library (meet and greet, IT clinics, homework clubs) • CASP – Camberwell After School Project • The DC Allotment project – produce to be sold and/or for charity
