WHAT TO PLANT THIS MONTH Growing your own garden will not only add beauty to your backyard, but it will also give you fresh produce that you can enjoy all summer long. Here in the Treasure Valley, May offers up prime planting season for many of our favorite crops. Here are a few you can start planting this month: Peas Spinach Watermelon Squash Pumpkins Cucumbers Corn Cantaloupe Beans Beets Potatoes For most plants, you’ll want to wait until the threat of frost has passed, which is typically around the second half of May in the Treasure Valley.
