Best Pizza HomeGrown Pizza 1 st time winner
HomeGrown Pizza has created some unusual recipes that work oh so well on the plate. Opened in 2017, the restaurant quickly amassed a following for exotic- sounding pizzas like Crab Rangoon, comfort food- inspired pies like Spicy Stuffed Pepper Pizza and Loaded Baked Potato Pizza, and even the curiosity- piquing Sloppy Giuseppe. There isn’t a thing on the mouth-watering menu that won’t knock your socks off. Owners Julie Pirlo and Scott Shaffer found success in the pizza business almost by accident. The pair opened a small used car lot along Route 7 east of Morgantown. There was extra space in a building on the property, and their good friend Thomas Price happened to be a chef. One thing led to another, and HomeGrown opened to the public with a menu shaped by Price’s culinary background and creativity. Your order from HomeGrown supports other local businesses, too, because HomeGrown sources as many ingredients as it can from right around the corner. 3429 Earl L.
