Townies agree that Mario’s Fishbowl and Gene’s Beer Garden are the best local watering holes in town, and for good reason. The homey atmosphere and perennial Best Bartender at Gene’s and the giant fishbowls and Best Wings at Mario’s earn both establishments fierce loyalty. Mario’s expanded this year to a third, take-out-only location in Westover. You can still sip on a fishbowl at its Woodburn and Suncrest locations, and you’ll find Gene’s where it’s always been, welcoming customers for more than 75 years in Greenmont.
