The Lakes South Morang College Newsletter PRINCIPAL REPORT
Last week we had the privilege of hosting several of our local feeder Kindergartens. They were impressed with the engagement of our students and the new upgrades of facilities across the Primary Campus, seeing our wonderful students in action. This is an invaluable partnership we have with our feeder Kindergartens and something we would like to continue to build moving into the future. A reminder to our families who maybe joining us in 2025, enrolments are open for Prep. Please come into the front office and speak with Karen or Tanya about this. Over the next 4 weeks, students in Years 4,5 and 6 will be involved in the statewide Attitudes to School Survey. This survey allows students to voice their thoughts about their teachers, our school and how they are feeling at school. This data is the cornerstone of everything we do here at The Lakes and compares us to every school in Victoria. Across the past 4 years, our data has continued to grow with data exceeding both state and like schools. This is something that as a leader, l am very proud of and shows that our students are proud of our school. A massive thank you to our Student Leaders who conducted a fitting and emotional ANZAC service last Wednesday. Our leaders continue to grow and develop within their role and have shown a wonderful understanding of our school and our values in everything they do. Keep up the great work! A reminder about our upcoming Trivia Night which is being held on Saturday June 1st at the Riverside Community Centre. Our Parent/Carer Fundraising Committee have been working overtime to get this up and running. Please come and support this event. Please keep an eye out for information about this event via Compass over the next few weeks. A massive thank you to our fundraising committee – Amanda, Jenny, Helen, Veronica, Katrina, Karen and Briohny for all the work you do for our school. It is much appreciated. Lastly, from a personal perspective, I will be taking some time away from The Lakes to take an Acting Principal position at Norris Bank Primary School in Bundoora. Robert Zull, Bec Sutton and Scott McLean will step into my role during my absence but please be assured that it will be business as usual. I am proud of what we have created here at The Lakes in the past 4 ½ years as Campus Principal and have appreciated the support of parents/carers, teachers, and students.
Have a wonderful week and rest of the term.
I will see you to start Term 3.
