The Lakes South Morang College - Issue 06

The Lakes South Morang College, received the following feedback for our 2023 year:

This is a very exciting development for our College as we progress on our journey of continual improvement. To provide context, in 2022, the overall performance of the College was deemed Renew. The 2023 report now sees the overall performance of the College at Stretch. The 2023 report showed the College had increased in areas of Influence (performance being high or very high) and Stretch (performance improving). At the Whittlesea Schools Network Conference held this week, schools in our area were presented with network performance data. Out of the 41 schools in our network, only one school was awarded an overall performance of Influence. The Lakes, was one of only two schools in the network to be awarded an overall performance of Stretch. This is a great achievement for the school, and something that we are very proud of achieving. The 2023 report showed that the most significant areas of Influence for the College were in the Achievement Domains – Reading and Numeracy, followed by School Climate. An area for improvement for the College in 2024 as identified through this report including: Engagement, which can be supported through increased student attendance at the College – every day counts!; and, Student Attitude, particularly across Years 7 - 12 through stimulated learning, sense of confidence and a sense of connection and community between students. We look forward to working with students, staff and parents/carers as key drivers of change in these areas. As we head into annual school performance surveying period, we cannot stress enough the importance of feedback from our College community: students, through the Attitudes to School Survey; parents/carers through the Parent Opinion Survey; and, staff through the School Staff Survey.
