SFLHCC FOUNDATION

INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

The SFLHCC Foundation’s Scholarship Program was established in 1995 for the purpose of providing educational opportunities to minority students attending Miami-Dade County Public Schools. The Foundation has granted almost one million dollars in the last 24 years. Annually, students are selected by the Education Committee of the organization and awards start at $1,000.00, $2,000.00 (depending on the GPA of students) and, go up to $5,000.00. The selected students will receive funds that are transferred to the school of their choice. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM In the last 30 years, over 200 students have benefitted from this program. Companies such as Facebook and Microsoft in Seattle have hosted students as well as Macy’s in New York, Comcast in Philadelphia and, Coca- Cola in Atlanta, among others. The purpose of this program is to expose students to uniquely successful business leaders and to show them different models for business achievement.

The South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SFLHCC) is reshaping career paths with its Paid Internship Program, providing students with hands-on experience and potential employment opportunities. Through practical exposure and mentorship, interns gain valuable skills and expand their professional networks, preparing them for success in their chosen fields. Interns transition into full-time roles as businesses recognize their talent and work ethic, making the internship a direct pathway to employment. Interns have often been offered full-time jobs after graduation at the South Florida Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. SFLHCC's Paid Internship Program is a catalyst for career advancement, enriching both individual lives and the broader business community through mentorship and opportunity.

Through the Foundation, we have been able to empower young Hispanic students to become executives and entrepreneurs. LILIAM M. LOPEZ, PRESIDENT/CEO FELIPE BASULTO, CHAIRMAN
