Westmoreland This Annual Household Hazardous  Waste Event is for DeSoto  residents only, proof of residency  is required.  Only residenƟal  household hazardous waste will  be accepted, commercial waste or  electronics are not allowed.   Due  to limited space, those who would  like to parƟcipate must register  prior to the event.  DeSoto  residents may sign up by calling  the AcƟon Center at  972.230.9600.   

Did you know……that the City of DeSoto has an Ordinance pertaining to Animal  Nuisances? 

According to ArƟcle 2.600 of the City of DeSoto Code of Ordinances, the following are deemed  public nuisances and it is hereby declared to be unlawful for any person to cause, suffer or permit: 

 The keeping of any animal which causes loud or unusual or frequent barking, howling or  other noise that disturbs the peace and quiet of any person of ordinary sensibility.   The keeping of any animal in such a manner as to endanger the public health; the  accumulaƟon of animal wastes which cause foul and offensive odors, or which is considered  to be a hazard to any other animal or human being.   The keeping of bees in such a manner as to deny the lawful use of adjacent property or  endanger personal health and welfare or the keeping of any animal in such a manner as to  deny the lawful use of adjacent property, public property or to endanger personal health and  welfare.    Any animal pens, stables or enclosures and property not kept free from carrion or any  putrescible material.   The keeping or harboring of a wild or vicious animal, except when a permit is issued by the  local animal control authority.   Any house, building, business, lot, yard, pen, enclosure or ground in which an animal is kept  that is unsanitary or offensive to a person of ordinary sensibility residing in the vicinity  thereof, or to the public at large.   Keeping of a dog or cat kennel in any residenƟal district within the City.   The performance or carrying out of any inhumane treatment against any animal.   Any animal, except a domesƟc house cat, to run at large within the City.   Any owned animal to deposit excreta on public property or private property of another.   Any condiƟon injurious to public health caused by the lack of improper disposal of animal  waste will be considered a violaƟon of this secƟon.
