Swing a fait swinger les écoliers
The River Clean Up is an annual event organized by five scouts from the 2 nd Russell Scouts. They started their task in Russell, at the Duncanville Bridge, cleaning up under the structure and along the sides as well as the adjacent parking area. They then proceeded to the bridge located on Ste-Marie Street in Embrun and did the same thing. Finally, they moved on to their last location, St-Jacques Street. In total, the group picked up 17 bags of garbage as well as four buckets of glass and metal. L’École élémentaire catholique Embrun avait raflé la première place lors du concours Affiche tes couleurs , organisé par l’Assemblée de la francophonie de l’Ontario, l’an dernier. L’école avait produit une vidéo lors de la journée des Franco-Ontariens et elle s’était démarquée par son dynamisme, sa fierté franco-ontarienne, son rayonnement communautaire, ses témoignages sentis des élèves et les couleurs rayonnantes du drapeau franco-ontarien présentées. L’école a eu le choix d’inviter le groupe que tous voulaient avoir dans les murs de leur école. C’est donc le groupe Swing qui est venu donner un spectacle le 9mai dernier, à la Croisée, pour le plus grand plaisir des 627 élèves. Michel Bénac et Jean-Philippe Goulet, du groupe Swing, se sont faits un plaisir de prendre la pose avec Alexandre Wilson, Maxime Lamadeleine et Alexandre Brisson- Leblanc.
