Spotlight on Douglas V. Scarbor, National Guide Right Committee Vice Chairman
Douglas V. Scarbor (Hyattsville- Landover (MD) AL 1990) currently serves on the National Guide Right Committee as
bor has also demonstrated his leadership as his chapter’s 13 th Polemarch and currently serves as the Eastern Province Region II MOIP/MTA Coordinator. For his service to the fraternity, Brother Scarbor has re- ceived several awards including the Eastern Province Pillar of the Province Award in 2016 for his achievements in Guide Right. Brother Scarbor is a National & Eastern Province Life Member. He is a 1985 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a B. S. Degree in Information Science. He has worked in the Information Technol- ogy industry for over 35 years and has spent the last 15 years with Lockheed Martin as a Cyber Systems Security Engineer Sr. Staff. Brother Scarbor also serves in other organizations including the University of Pittsburgh African American Alumni Council (AAAC) DC/Baltimore/Northern VA Affiliate, the Saracen Klub (University of Pittsburgh), and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) Greenbelt Space Chapter(GSC).
Vice Chairman. Since his initiation into to Kappa Alpha Psi, Brother Scarbor’s primary focus has been on providing service to the youth in various capacities including Chap- ter Guide Right & Scholarship Chairman, Eastern Province Guide Right Director, and National Student of the Year Competition Judge. His passion for Guide Right comes from his own youth. He says, “Growing up in North Philly provided an environment where it was easy to make bad choices but I had my parents, family members and neighbors to help guide me to make good choices and stay on the right path. It is now my responsibility to reach back and help other young men make good choices and stay on the right path.” Brother Scar-
