KAPPA LEAGUE CHAPTER SPOTLIGHT

University of Miami University of Mobile

College and ACT Prep, Chapter Certi- fication, @National Voter Registration Day, National Kappa League Confer- ence, #WhyKappasMentor Campaign, #IAmAchievement Campaign, and Boy Scouts of America Partnership. Outside of the National Guide Right Initiatives the Mobile Kappa Leaguers have devel- oped partnerships with the American Red Cross, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the Ronald McDonald House, just to name a few. The Mobile Kappa League business meetings are conducted once a month traditionally at the Mobile Alumni Chapter Kappa House but due to COVID-19, all meetings have been moved to a virtual platform. Staying true to being a “leadership development” program, all 100 young men are expected to hold some form of leadership role at their high school, at their place of worship, or in the Mobile community. These expectations have so- lidified the relationships that have been built with the entire city of Mobile; from the Mayor’s office to the Superintendent of the Mobile County Public School System (the largest schools system in the state of Alabama). Lastly, the Mobile Kappa Leaguers take pride in putting together their own Jay Crosby, Guide Right Award packet. As a result of their hard work and detailed planning, the Mobile Kappa League has won the Jay Crosby Award in 2003, 2005, and 2017 (for the Southern Province and Grand Chapter). The Mobile Kappa Leaguers and brothers of the advising team have won other Guide Right Awards as well on the provincial and Grand Chapter levels. The Mobile Kappa League advisors are: Joseph Roberson (Mobile (AL) AL 2005) (Mobile Kappa League Alum), Christopher Collier (Beta Zeta 2009) (Mobile Kappa League Alum and Keep- er of Records), Brother Cunningham
