R EV. HERBERT BOOTH, son of General Booth, gave an interesting and helpful address to the students on the theme of stewardship as related to the giving of the Gospel. Three grand sons of General Booth will enter the Insti tute in the Fall. R ev . J ohn D. H abbi C k also spoke to the class at the Homiletic hour on Homiletics and "How I Prepare a Sermon.” Mr. Habbick is original in manner and matter and he made his points, stand up like rab bits ears. A mong the speakers at the Institute class es during March was Rev. Wm. T. Locke, of China. The addresses of Mr. Locke were of a high order and made a profound impression upon the students. At one serv ice twelve young women volunteered for China. M r . R. C. L ewis , Superintendent of the Shop Work, has returned from a three months’ trip to the South and East. Dur ing his absence he was greatly blessed in giving the Gospel in a number of cities where he sojourned and in seeing a large number of young people make a confession of Christ.
we have received through your prayers at our chorus meetings. You cannot imagine how you have helped us and made us feel how close to God we should all keep. I think your prayers have drawn the mem bers of our chorus all closer together. We all have dear friends in the chorus now and a year ago we were all strangers. Now there is a link which binds us all close together. The chorus has proven a help to so many. May you receive the reward for what you have done in bringing so many to their Lord. Yours very sincerely, B. C. G .—Extract from letter written to L. F. Peckham, March 6, 1914. “I can hardly tell which is greater—my joy at reaching the last question or sorrow that this course of study is ended. I can not tell you how much it means to me. I have done it rapidly because I was so in terested I wanted to. I know that many parts I shall re-study, again and again. “I shall heartily recommend this course wherever I have a chance, for while there are many points I am not sure I agree ex actly with the interpretation or explana tion given, it can only do one good to fol low the study. It has opened up the treas ure house of the Bible to me wonderfully, and I thank you and all the others for your work in this way .—Extract from a letter of a graduate of the Scofield Course.
