Roy will be responsible for the strategic oversight and overall management of the organization and will report to Vivalon’s board of directors, the nonprofit said in an announcement. Roy most recently served as director of philanthropy at Providence Health and Services, a national not-for-profit healthcare system. Prior to that, he spent 14 years as executive director of Shanti Project, a San Francisco community-based nonprofit providing safety-net services for marginalized communities, including older adults and individuals with chronic health conditions. Roy will step in for Vivalon’s longtime president Joe O’Hehir, who had been serving in an interim role until a new CEO was found.
