History is one of nineteen majors at Biola College. Stu­ dents may specialize in Far Eastern, Western European, American or Latin Ameri­ can history. Biola College is accredited with the Western Associa­ tion of Schools and Colleges, and through the Collegiate Division of the Accrediting Association of Bible Colleges. Biola students receive from two to three times more Bi­ ble and doctrine than other comparable Christian liberal arts colleges require.

A LITTLE RED-HEADED BOY stood on a railroad track watching the train disappear into the dis­ tance, taking with it his dreams of horses racing in the wind, cov­ ered wagons crossing the plains, Indians shooting arrows, cowboys riding the ranges. All that re­ mained was his world of people who were always saying to him, “ Jimmy, don’t do that!” Instead of going to school that morning, he’d wrapped his lunch in a kerchief, tied it to a stick, shouldered it like a hobo walking the highways, and had made his way to the station. His heart had pounded as the train steamed in, but no one had let him aboard, and the train had moved off with­ out him.

Jimmy could think of only one thing to do, follow the train, be­ cause, now that he’d come this far, he knew he’d never return to the world of “Don’t !” He walked the tracks, stepping from one tie to another, sometimes stumbling and falling, wiping tears of dis­ appointment from his eyes, yet walking doggedly on toward a vanishing hope. A big policeman watched the freckle-faced boy trudging along the tracks. “Miss the train, son?” Jimmy looked around startled, but when he saw the policeman’s friendly smile, he nodded. “Want to come have some ice cream with me?” The two walked side by side, a comradely silence between them.
