Eugene was stationed longest in Plattsburgh, upstate New York. 66 He married there. 67 Perhaps to show his wife places he had been stationed, after he retired from the Army they traveled. She died during their travels. Eugene accompanied her body back to Plattsburgh where she was buried. 68 Eugene remained in Plattsburgh, spending the rest of his life in or near the town. He remarried. 69 By 1930 he was a poultry farmer who headed a large household but by 1940 he and his wife lived alone. 70 Eugene died in 1949
