Augusta W. Calhoun, the oldest, was born 25 December 1860. 15 At age nine when the family moved to Georgia, Augusta likely best recalled growing up in Greenwood. In 1900, she lived with her parents 16 and remained there until they died a few years later. In 1909, she married Joe L. Strozier who had been a teacher in a town near Cartersville. Later, Joe was a teacher in McRae where he probably taught at S OUTH G EORGIA C OLLEGE . 17 Before 1920, Augusta and Joe moved to Cuthbert in Randolph County, Georgia, where Joe taught mathematics and languages at A NDREW C OLLEGE . 18 In the 1930s, Augusta and Joe still lived in Cuthbert and he, age 70, was still a college teacher. 19 Augusta died 20 June 1936 in Randolph County. 20 She was buried in Cartersville where her Calhoun family members were buried. 21 15 Ancestry, Find A Grave , database with images (http://www.findagrave.com : 6 February 2021), memorial 36292137, Augusta W.
