Alfred Turpin Calhoun, the only son, was born 20 July 1862. 22 He received an A.B. from E MORY AND H ENRY C OLLEGE in 1886 and an M.D. from Atlanta Medical College in 1890. 23 In 1900, when he lived at home with his parents, he was a physician, probably working in his father’s practice. 24 Alfred married Emma Thornton 18 November 1908 in Talladega, Alabama. 25 In 1910, they lived on West Main Street in Cartersville, Georgia, and, in 1920, Bridge Street in Cartersville. 26 Alfred died 31 January 1922 in Bartow County, Georgia. 27 He was buried in Cartersville where his Calhoun family members were buried. 28 Emma returned to Talladega, outliving Alfred by many years. 29 Annie Daniel Calhoun died at age 82, the longest-lived of the children. She was born 24 November 1863. She and William D.
