He lived at 5209 Caroline Street, Houston, Texas, when he died of lung cancer in August 1920 at the age of 48. He had moved to Houston in 1909. 44 Where he lived before is not known. He was born 4 December 1871 in Talladega, Alabama. 45 Mary Eleanor (Denny) Chamberlain Mounce, his wife, survived him by decades.
