Welcome
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics, I welcome you to our 2022 Spring Awards Dinner. It has been three long years since our last banquet. I know that the past few years have been very difficult for many of us, with losses of loved ones, experiences and community. While those losses cannot be replaced, we are excited to be back together to celebrate and honor our outstanding students and faculty, and thank our generous donors who make tonight’s awards and this banquet possible. We are especially pleased to welcome members of the School of Business and Economics business Advisory Council (BAC) and our Corporate Partners. The BAC guarantees the relevance of our programs by providing input from our business and community stakeholders while our Corporate Partners help our students connect with local businesses. We appreciate your help in all our efforts.
It has been an eventful and exciting few years for the school.
This spring the School of Business and Economics received a full five- year accreditation extension from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The extension resulted from a visit last
fall with an AACSB accreditation review team. These reviews are an important part of the accreditation process, with teams rigorously examining programs to ensure that schools are continuing to meet accreditation standards and are innovating in order to better serve students. With the help of our community business partners, the School of Business and Economics faculty, staff and students put on a highly successful visit for the team. As always, the team had a few suggestions that we are already working to put into place to further improve our programs.
