Expectations of Student-Athletes

1. Meet Cathedral School academic standards and policies. Student-athletes not in compliance with these standards may be withdrawn from participation on Cathedral Athletic Teams. 2. Demonstrate a positive attitude. Keep emotions under control without losing enthusiasm. a. Try your best b. Never give up c. Have fun 3. Display positive forms of sportsmanship. 4. Avoid using profanity. 5. Respect the authority and judgment of teammates, coaches, administrators, and officials. 6. Finish every athletic season started. 7. Attend all practices and games unless approved by the Athletic Director and coach. 8. Two or more unexcused absences from games or practices may result in suspension or dismissal from the team. Repeat offenders may be disallowed from participating in future athletic seasons. 9. Be present for the academic day no later than 12:30 p.m. in order to participate in the day’s athletic event unless otherwise approved by the Athletic Director. 10. Respect Cathedral Athletics property. Student-athletes should come to all practices and games fully dressed and prepared for activity. All Cathedral Athletics equipment that is issued must be returned at the end of the season in good condition. Student-athletes will be charged for items lost or in poor condition. 1. Support our mission. 2. Set a model of positive behavior by exhibiting good sportsmanship to coaches, student-athletes, offi- cials, and opponents. Cathedral Athletics will not tolerate arguing with officials, coaches, opponents, or other parents. The inability to demonstrate proper sportsmanship will result in removal from current and, possibly, future events. 3. Notification of any illness or injuries. 4. Pick up child or children on time and/or have organized transportation from practices and games. Expectations of Parents
