A MESSAGE FROM HEAD OF YEAR 13
Welcome back to all of Year 13, we hope they all had an enjoyable and restful half term.
This first week back I have been very impressed with the behaviour and punctuality of all students during their mock examinations. The mock examinations will be continuing throughout next week, so I hope they take some time to rest this weekend alongside any more revision. A reminder for all students to be punctual for their exams. Students are expected to be lining up and prepared 15 minutes before the exam starts, with all their necessary equipment. Most students will still be off timetable next week, however fashion, art and photography students are expected to at- tend their usual timetabled lessons. If a student is unable to attend their examination due to illnesses/University interviews, please let the Sixth Form reception or Ms Pugh know before 9am on the day by email: sixthform@waldegravesch.org or telephone 020 8894 3244, so we can pass this on to the exams officer and reschedule the examina- tion.

BOOK OF THE MONTH
‘Hag-seed’ - Margaret Atwood
A marvellous retelling of the infamous Shakespearian play ‘The Tempest’. The story is weaved into the life of troubled, grieving Felix, theatre director, as he is exiled out of his town by his closest friends. He tries to avenge those who betrayed him and come to terms with the loss of his daughter as he directs ‘The Tempest’ with inmates as the actors as part of his new job. Atwood’s clear intelligence in Shakespeare’s work along with her unique, compelling writing style makes this book perfect for people who are interested yet perhaps intimidated by the complexity of Shakespeare.
