affections are to be dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ. In verses 9, 10 of this chapter we read “Let love be without hypocrisy, abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good, be kind ly affectioned one to another. . And dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil ■ clease to that which is good. Be kindly affectioned one to another . . .” And in verses 14, 15 we have a difficult ad monition, “Bless them which persecute you, bless and curse not.' Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.” Even our emotions, whatever that may mean to you in dividually, your emotions are to be under the control of the Holy Spirit. How deeply are you dedicated to Christ today in your gifts? What is your spir itual I.Q.? How far have you gone in the things of the Lord? STORIES OF TRAGEDY care not un common today, in fact the newspap ers have space for only a few of the many which are occuring. For in stance you no doubt read of Margie Ganger who was fatally burned when her home in Summit, New Jersey was consumed by fire. The irony of the incident was that she was rescued but she wildly ran back into th e ,house to get $35.00 which her father had given her with which to purchase her Easter cloth ing. This was a heart-breaking gamble for $35.00 worth of perishable gar ments. Yes, we say it was foolish but no more so than that person who gambles with his soul concerning the most important decision of sal vation. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness; For what is a man profited if he shall gain the whole world arid lose his own soul or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”
