Medical Advisory Service: The Medical Advisory Service is a free of charge telephone and email advisory service for Managers and Principals provided by a team of occupational health professionals who are familiar with the Department’s human resource management policies, employee health obligations, and the operational requirements of schools The service provides advice to Principals and Managers on the management of employees experiencing psychological and/or physical health related difficulties that impact on their ability to perform the duties associated with their employment The service can also assist in the arrangement of independent medical examinations by appropriate medical practitioners on behalf of the Department, at a cost to the workplace. This service is operated by InjuryNET, and is available Monday to Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (excluding public holidays). They can be contacted on 1300 495 559, email DET@injurynet.com.au or log in at https://www. injurynet.com.au/DET All phone calls and emails will be responded to on the same day with comprehensive advice provided within 24 hours

EAP / counselling The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free, confidential support service available to all Department of Education (DET) employees and their immediate family members. The service provides professional counselling , wellbeing coaching , and advice on managing work, relationships, stress, or personal challenges — either face-to-face, by phone, or online. You can access support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by contacting: 📞 1300 361 008 or visiting www. convergeinternational.com.au All conversations are confidential and independent from the school. You don’t need approval to access the service. STAFF INDUCTION AT THE LAKES At The Lakes, induction means connection. New teachers are supported to: • Understand our culture, expectations, and professional standards. • Access mentoring, coaching, and structured feedback. • Build evidence of impact for VIT registration. • Engage in reflective practice within a supportive team. • Each ECT is paired with a trained mentor (VIT EMP-certified). • Meetings occur at least twice per term, focusing on practice, reflection, and impact. • Mentors provide observation, feedback, and assistance with VIT evidence. • ECTs engage in self-reflection after each cycle.
