EVENT PLANNING PROCESSES Excursions and Events • Submit event applications at least one Term in advance, including a risk assessment, via Compass. • Please include suggested staff members for excursions after obtaining their agreement (this is not a guarantee of staffing but can help with planning). • Excursions must meet DET regulations, ensuring appropriate staff ratios. • Daytime excursions must have a minimum of 2 teachers, with a 1:20 ratio per DET regulations in most circumstances. • Senior school excursions with less than 20 students may go ahead with only one teacher provided the teacher is in agreement. • Any excursion with a funded student must have an integration aide in addition to the 1:20 ratio. • Post event please ensure that photos are submitted for social media via Compass Issue Tracker within a week of student participation.
