Feature Bulls
IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Robert Wessel
We lost my Dad Robert Wessel on 4/22/2025 from complications that occurred during surgery. It was sudden shock to our family and community because everyone that knew him marveled at his good health and energy for a man his age. He was 84 years old when he passed. Things will never be the same for Pine View, and I don’t think they ever should be. Dad was the central figure, the calming voice of reason, and the glue that kept this family all working toward the same goal. The bull sale was one of the highlights of the year for my dad. He took great pride in the bulls and how they were presented and received by our customers. He did the feeding every day and was as steady as a clock. Regardless of weather or the way he felt he was going to pull in the yard at 7:00a.m. and begin his normal routine day in and day out. He was detail oriented and thorough and truly loved his role. Family members and friends often asked why we made him do it and our response was always the same----He wanted to do it and taking that away from him would have aged him even faster. He was a big believer in staying active and getting off your a## and doing something. Never choosing the easy way or the hard way, he always chose the right way to get the job done. Beyond his roles here as a father, grandfather and husband, my dad’s greatest role was being a selfless servant of God. He surrendered himself to the plan that God had for him and followed it without question or hesitation. He always put others in front of himself and was more concerned with the well being of others than he was his own. He told many customers how proud he was of our operation and enjoyed spending his retirement years working with his sons and grandsons. His legacy will live on forever here and his presence can still be felt every day we are working with the cattle. It is because of him and his sacrifices we have been able to build this operation to what it is today. He was and is always there, facilitating our success with his determination and work ethic. We watched him as he dealt honestly with people, went out of his way to help others and put all his effort into any project he decided to tackle. I thank him for his example every day. We reflect and celebrate a life well lived by a man who was God fearing, faithful and determined. We find comfort in the fact that he never suffered and spent every day doing exactly what he loved. We find hope that even in the darkest of days there is light and better days ahead. Lastly, we find gratitude for being the lucky ones that got to share in his life. At his passing all I could hear in my head was Jesus welcoming him home and saying, “well done good and faithful servant.” Truer words have never been spoken.
