EZ Web: The Future of Round Bale Wrapping in Australia As the demand for sustainable solutions in agriculture continues to grow, EZ Web is paving the way for the future of round bale wrapping. Developed by Tama , EZ Web is the world’s first fully recyclable alternative to traditional netwrap—delivering a practical, on-farm solution to one of the biggest challenges in baling: plastic waste. EZ Web has been under commercial trial across Australia for more than two years , with farmers and contractors putting the product through its paces on both silage and hay . These extensive trials have highlighted the product’s strength, consistency, and compatibility with a range of conditions and baler types. What sets EZ Web apart is its ability to be recycled through existing agricultural plastic recycling programs. With its single-material construction , EZ Web can be collected and processed alongside silage wrap—simplifying waste management and supporting sustainability goals on-farm. Early adopters across Australia have praised EZ Web’s ease of use, strong bale integrity , and its contribution to a cleaner, circular approach to baling. EZ Web isn’t just a new baling material—it’s a step forward in sustainable farming. For more information, speak to your local Tama representative.

R&D Trials
R&D Trials
Tama R&D Trials Did you know, every year, the Tama team head into paddocks across the country, trialling and testing new crop baling products before they hit the Australian market? Working alongside baling contractors and farmers, the product trials give Tama a unique understanding of the end-user challenges they may be facing and supports their business in providing the best products possible. The trialling of new products or making our current products even better is what Tama is committed too. The last 2 years we have been even more active in the field-testing Twine, Netwrap & Stretchfilm with over 100 days in field just the last 12 months alone. We have been testing recycled content stretchfilm, recycled content high density twine and of course our yearly net wrap trials which includes recycled content product, new raw materials, competitors and more. All of these products have minimum of one weathering site where bales are stored for up to two years checking the durability in Australian conditions. It is so important we test the products here in country to ensure they provide the best quality fodder you can make. It is Tama’s commitment to supplying the best performing and most sustainable products available on the market today. Tama Oceania Regional Technical Manager, Darrell Butler, says, “It’s great to be able to see new products coming through the pipeline, from initial concept to launch. We are ensuring products are specifically designed for the Australian market, which has some of the harshest conditions in the world. It gives our team and our customers the trust that our product will work without issue.” With the largest trials in the Southern Hemisphere and thousands of bales pumped out every year, it’s no wonder Tama is the preferred partner of crop baling solutions for fodder producers looking for performance and reliability at baling time. All this R&D has led to our industry leading twine product TamaTwine+ Impax being released onto the market in 2023. More than 500,000 bales across Australia have been produced using Impax twine during the past 3 years during the testing and in-season. This twine product is changing the baling landscape.

Hay Preservative
Hay Preservative
How it works
®
HAY GUARD ® ’s dual action protects and retains the quality of your hay. • Low oxygen and no mould growth produce a more stable bale and
Made from a combination of sulphur compounds, HAY GUARD enables you to start baling within a few days instead of waiting 4-6 weeks. Unlike propionic acid products, HAY GUARD has no odor. Once applied to the cut hay, HAY GUARD turns into gas and searches for oxygen then it ‘eats’ up the oxygen in the bale, prohibiting microbial growth so the bales will stay cooler, and you’ll see less browning. • HAY GUARD ® is a preservative not an inoculant • The sulphur salts form mild s-gases that are non-conducive to mould growth • Non-toxic • No withholding period • Safe, based on additives used in human food preservation • Get hay baled before rain event • More baling hours in a day • Ready to use formula • Baling up to 25% moisture
much less heating even when moisture is higher. • HAY GUARD ® helps limit plant cell respiration.
1.
2.
Scavenges oxygen from within the bale controlling oxidation that causes heating
Forms conditions in the bale that are non-conducive to mould growth or overheating
• Start hay making earlier in the season • Better quality hay and more regrowth • Reduce heat, yeast and mould • Increase dry matter recovery • Retain more high-quality nutrients • Easier feeding out

DID YOU KNOW
Mould and Fungus are naturally present in hay. As soon as forage is cut, the dynamic of microbe colonies change from defensive bacteria (helping the plant grow) to degenerative organisms, that feed off the energy plants cells emit as they start to decompose. Extended drying times in windrows are perfect conditions for bacteria and fungus colonies to establish themselves before baling, and if baled at a higher moisture without HAY GUARD ® , colonies continue to feed off the water soluble carbohydrates and heating can occur.
NOTE: • Apply 800ml when baling hay using an applicator on the baler. • Moisture content should be 25% or less for cured hay, 18% or less for sap/stem moisture. • The recommended way to measure the moisture is Gazeeka 870 or before baling use the microwave oven technique. • Refer to application rate on drum label for more details. • Application rates depend on a case by case scenario. Speak with your local Tama Territory Manager for suitable application rates for your crop and conditions.

Silage Covers & Tubes
The Importance of Premium Silage Covers in Ensuring Optimal Fermentation The quality of silage is a critical factor in the success of livestock farming. Whether feeding dairy cows, beef cattle, or sheep, the quality of preserved forage directly impacts animal health, production efficiency, and profitability. Central to achieving high-quality silage is the fermentation process, which transforms harvested forage into a nutritious and stable feed. However, the fermentation process is highly dependent on the exclusion of oxygen—a factor that premium silage covers play a crucial role in controlling. At Tama, we understand the vital role of oxygen management in the preservation of silage, which is why we provide Silacover, a high-quality silage cover specifically designed to form an effective barrier against oxygen infiltration. Understanding the Fermentation Process The fermentation process begins once forage is compacted in the silage pit, a crucial step in creating anaerobic conditions. In the absence of oxygen, naturally occurring lactic acid bacteria break down sugars in the forage and convert them into lactic acid. This lactic acid is key to preserving the forage, reducing its pH, and preventing spoilage by undesirable microorganisms. A successful fermentation process results in nutrient-dense silage that can be stored and fed to livestock throughout the year. However, oxygen is the enemy of effective fermentation. When oxygen enters the silage pit, aerobic organisms, such as moulds and yeasts, proliferate. These organisms consume the valuable nutrients in the silage and cause spoilage. Not only does this reduce the nutritional value of the feed, but it also increases the risk of feeding spoiled forage to livestock, which can have severe health implications. Therefore, it is essential to prevent oxygen from entering the silage pit at all costs. The Role of Research in Enhancing Silage Preservation Recent studies have emphasized the critical importance of selecting high-quality silage covers to enhance feed preservation. Research highlights that modern multi-layer silage films can reduce dry matter losses by up to 50% compared to traditional single-layer covers. These findings underline how advancements in production techniques, such as the development of oxygen barrier films, contribute to maintaining optimal fermentation conditions. By investing in premium covers, farmers can prevent oxygen infiltration more effectively, safeguarding the nutritional integrity of their silage. Tama’s Silacover incorporates the latest innovations in material science, ensuring that farmers benefit from the most advanced and reliable oxygen barrier technology available. Tama’s Silacover: The Best Defence Against Oxygen Infiltration At Tama, we recognize the significance of creating an oxygen-free environment for the fermentation process. Silacover is designed to provide a robust barrier against oxygen ingress, ensuring the success of the anaerobic process. Manufactured with advanced multi-layer technology, Silacover is durable, tear-resistant, and capable of withstanding Australia’s varying weather conditions. The flexibility and strength of Silacover make it ideal for covering large silage pits, sealing them tightly, and maintaining the essential anaerobic environment throughout the entire fermentation period. Our silage covers have been specifically developed with UV protection, meaning they retain their integrity under prolonged exposure to sunlight. This is essential, as many silage pits remain sealed for extended periods. The high puncture resistance of Silacover ensures that it remains intact even when subjected to rough handling or environmental hazards such as animals or debris. Enhancing Nutrition with Tama’s Expertise Effective silage preservation is not just about storage—it’s about ensuring that the nutritional quality of the feed meets the needs of high-performing livestock. By using Silacover , farmers can have confidence that their silage will support optimal milk yields and weight gains, maximizing the value of their forage investment. Protecting Your Investment with Tama The use of premium silage covers is not just about preventing spoilage; it’s about protecting your investment. The forage you harvest represents a significant portion of your farm’s resources, and by investing in high-quality covers from Tama, you ensure that your silage retains its full nutritional value. By preventing oxygen ingress, Silacover helps to minimize wastage and ensures that you’re feeding your livestock with the best possible forage, leading to better animal health, higher productivity, and ultimately, improved profitability for your farming operation. In conclusion, the fermentation process is the foundation of high-quality silage, and protecting this process from oxygen exposure is critical. Tama’s Silacover provides the best defence, ensuring that your silage remains nutrient-rich and spoil-free, offering peace of mind that your livestock are receiving the best possible feed.
