really understand. Pray for the Scriptures that are given out, that they may be studied diligently as the very Word of God, and that the Holy Spirit may make clear His own Word to those hungry and thirsty souls. Most truly your fellow-servant, Frank A. Keller. Changsha, Hunan, China. m m From a University Town "I want to congratulate you most heartily on the July issue of The King’s Business. “ I have long been an enthusiastic reader of the magazine, and have given it first place among the dozen or so relig ious publications which I take. "In these days of apostasy, it is good to read the clean- cut editorials we are always sure of finding in our maga zine, and the loyal contributed articles that make its pages a ‘feast of good things,’ with a goodly portion of ‘meat in due season.’ “ I am enclosing a check for f 2.00 for which please send the magazine for a year to ■ I am sending it as a gift, prompted by the conviction that it will meet the need of a heart hungry for the truth that is fundamental. "For the balance of the check please send me two or three copies of the July number for distribution among some friends who have been poisoned with the virus of Mod ernism.” (J. H. G., Ithaca, N. stratlon this incident is of the truth of the promise: "Cast thy bread upon the waters, for thou shalt find it after many days” (Eccl. 11:1). Another incident illustrates one of the difficulties of widespread evangelism in China, and also shows how God in His love and wisdom helps us out of perplexing situa tions. Two of our evangelists were preaching to a large crowd of men and women at Ting Kia Wan, but the people in that out of the, way country district could not understand their words, although both preachers and audience were Chinese. It was most discouraging, but to their great delight a young woman in the audience suddenly arose and said: “ I have understood them and will tell you what they said.” She had not only understood their words but had caught the real meaning in a truly wonderful way. She con tinued: "These teachers have been telling us of a heavenly doctrine, which teaches that all men should worship the one true God, that we all should turn from the false and embrace the truth, put our trust in our heavenly Father and believe in Jesus Christ as our Saviour.” In China, when you meet a stranger, one of the most cour teous questions is, “ How old are you?” This custom ex plains why in nearly every report the age of the person Is given. At Mayang, a Mrs. Ma, fifty years of age, listened with close attention and deep interest to the message brought by our men. She asked many intelligent questions, and then began repeating with evident Joy: "Jesus is my Saviour, Jesus is my Saviour," and she positively declared her purpose to put her trust in Him. What a call to prayer! Pray for the evangelists, that they may preach clearly, lovingly, and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Pray for the people, that they may listen attentively, and that the Holy Spirit may help them to
