wanted Christ for his Saviour., As he sat there a moment, he said, “ But I don't want to wait until tomorrow. Why can’t * pettle it now?” It is not necessary to say how glad the teacher was to pray for the one who wanted Jesus right then. Billy never missed school from that day to the close, and he kept one busy answering the thoughtful Questions he asked during the Bible hour. The days quickly passed into weeks, and before we knew it, we were plan ning the closing exercises to be held Sunday evening at one of the churches. Many of the children and their parents were present, but we noticed Billy was not among them. “ Where’s Billy?” _ asked the teacher, with a chorus reply from the boys, “ Oh, Billy won’t be here— you won’t see Billy in a church. ’ But Billy did come, and more than this, Billy and the boy who said he had never attended a Sunday School were both in Sunday Schopl the fol lowing week. All told, three boys and four girls from the Intermediate Department alone gave their hearts to Jesus Christ, and many more were led to Him In the Junior Department. Last year three girls who helped as teachers in D. V. B. S. saw their need of Bible training and entered the Bible Institute that fall. Two of them were able to help again this year as more efficient teachers. Is it any wonder we had a school of about 325 with an average attendance of 2507- In one of the Daily Vacation Bible Schools where there was a large group of girls in the teen age, girls just ready for High School or Junior High, His power was especially manifested in soul-saving. Twenty-one of the girls took a definite stand for Him. Some of these were from different faiths where the "precious blood” had not been preached, and others had never gone to Sunday School, and still others had been in Sunday School but had never made a personal decision for the Saviour. As one of the girls who had been attending Sunday School since she was a tiny tot, told about her acceptance she said, “ I do love Jesus, but I had never taken Him as mine.” How true this is of many people. Surely His heart was made glad as He saw the tear-stained face made radiant by the decision for Him. As the Christian girls heard the testimonies of their chums it put a desire into their hearts to serve Him. One of the girls who has been a Chris tian for several years and who Is look ing forward to definite service for Him on the mission field if He tarries, called the teacher after one of the morning services and told Her of a girl with whom she had been dealing. r

monies to draw back to Himself many an older person who had been ‘‘follow ing afar off.” So the Conference blessing grows and spreads and overflows, and instead of being just an individual blessing or just a club blessing, it has become in many places a Community blessing, in creasing with the dayB. ‘‘GREAT IS THE LORD, AND GREATLY TO BE PRAISED!” Daily Vacation Bible School Or in short terms, “D. V. B. S.” Our school opened on July 6th and closed July 31st. The first morning found the teachers gathering together at 8:30 and the playground resound ing with the happy laughter of boys and girlB. After about one hundred or more were registered that first morning, classes were in full swing by 10 A. M. What a great joy and inspiration it was to see so many there that first day. It was indeed a great privilege to have eleven high school boys and girls in our school at the very beginning. Before our school closed the lives of thirty-five boys and girls of this age had been touched, and there was an average of twenty to twenty-five pres ent daily. Aside from thirty minutes given to handwork and fifteen minutes for re cess, the time from 9 A. M. to 11:30 A. M. was given over to Bible Study, Bible Memory Work, M i s s i o n a r y Stories and Memorizing Hymns. There can be no doubt but that the D. V. B. S. does a work which is vital. There were boys attending who never had been to Sunday School, and some of these boys only missed two or three days during the month of our school. One lad, who was almost 14 years of age, said he had never been to Sunday School. He was often, remembered when the teachers met for prayer, and scarcely had a week passed when he definitely gave his heart to Jesus Christ. He memorized Scripture more readily than any of the other boys and girls in the Intermediate Department. Another lad— Billy— known as a nuisance in the community, came one day and stayed home the next, during the first two weeks. After a personal conversation with his teacher, he was asked if he would 'think about Christ and what Christ had done for him from the time of that interview until the next day, and he said he would. The following day he was asked if he would like to talk to the teacher at recess time about Christ. A light broke over his face and he said, ‘‘Yes, I would.” Another heart-to-heart talk took place and once more he was asked to go away thinking about Christ, and to come back the next day ready with his answer as to whether or not he

BIBLE WOMEN’S WORK Mrs. A. L. Dennis, Supt.— Twenty-five Women Engaged in House-to-House Personal Work» Bible Classes and Soul Winning Clubs. Mrs. Lyman Stewart, so long at the head of the Bible Women's Work of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, is recover ing from her protracted illness, and hopes to be able to return to active service at no very distant date. Mrs. Dennis has appointed Mrs. Cant Superintendent of Adult Class Work; Miss Myrtle E. Scott Superintendent of Eteri Work; and Miss Anna L. Gxllam Superintendent of Euodia Work. The Lyceum-Eteri Clubs —UST a few notes of praise to the Lord for the continued and ever-increasing blessing of the Summer Lyceum-Eteri Conference held during the early part o f July at the Pacific Pali sades. We marvelled greatly at the amazing way the Lord blessed the girls while they were at the Conference and at the wonderful things He did in the way of transforming lives while they were there. We praise Him for that, but we are even more rejoiced at the way the blessing has increased and grown as the girls have come back into the hard places and back into the usual routine of life. One of the sweetest things one could ever see is the various groups of Eteri girls as they gather from week to week in their Club groups or in their social groups, and one of ,the gladdest things one could hear would be their testi monies. » . Many of the girls went to the Con ference with cold hearts and no sweet sense of the reality of the Lord, and came away to praise'Him for His won derful, practical reality in their lives, and whereas they were world-weary and heavy-hearted they are now bub bling over with the joy that only comes by letting the dear Lord have absolute right of way in the life. Their testimonies have resulted in the return of many a one who did not have the privilege of going to the Confer ence, but who got a direct blessing from seeing the changed lives of those who did go. One club has been invited by several Community Churches to come and take charge of their prayer meeting, and as the girls have sung and read the Word and testified in the meetings the older folks have received a real Con ference blessing, and great inspiration and refreshment from these young lives so earnest and zealous for Him; and if misty eyes and even honest tears, are any ^indication, we can well know that the Lord used the testi
