Innovative Design for Macquarie University EP 144 Maple
Hassell were tasked with creating a new transparent, inclusive and engaging home for Macquarie University Law School. The Michael Kirby Building represents a landmark project in the heart of the campus and reinforces the Law School's connection and reputation within the university. A standout feature of the project is the transformation of a previously under-utilised external courtyard into a naturally ventilated, top-lit atrium. This newly designed space fosters a sense of openness and interconnectivity, promoting well-being and facilitating various indoor and outdoor gatherings that encourage interaction and the exchange of ideas. Havwoods Maple flooring plays a crucial role in creating a cohesive and inviting environment that supports these activities. The resulting space is a testament to how thoughtful design and quality materials can come together to create an inspiring educational environment.
